THE CARS IN
MY LIFE - Hutchinson,
London, Hard Cover. Book Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket
Condition: VG. Photos, Drawings (illustrator). 23.5cm By
15cm. Bentley is one of the most famed names in British
motoring, particularly for high performance vehicles. A few
years before this book was published WO's biography was
published under that title. This follow-up contains what he
describes as "theories and opinions, a hotch-potch of ideas
on motor cars, motoring and the motor industry." The seven
chapters cover the cars in WO's life, motor bicycles and
Brooklands, Bentleys, some motoring men and design and
designers. A top read for the automotive buff. Both his
biography and this title were "ghosted" by Richard Hough
from WO's notes and interviews . 157 pages including two
appendices (Le Mans 1930 and road tests), index, 33 b/w
photos, mostly cars but also several of British locomotives,
with which WO was also involved. Green hard covers with
silver Bentley emblem at front/spine titles VG+, lightly
peniciled name/date top FFEP, otherwise excellent.
Price clipped pictorial DJ has short tear, few chips top
front edges, two small pieces missing top back. |
